President Donald Trump tweeted that he will return to Georgia for a big rally on January 4, just one day before two Senate runoffs are held.
“As badly as we were treated in Georgia by the ‘Republican’ Governor and ‘Republican’ Secretary of State, we must have a massive victory for two great people, @KLoeffler & @sendavidperdue, on January 5th,” he said. “I will be having a big Rally for them on Monday night, January 4th. WIN!”
Trump was in Valdosta, Georgia earlier in the month, where he urged Republicans to vote for GOP candidates Sens. David Perdue and Kelly Loeffler even though he feels that the state’s election was rigged against him.
“You must go vote and vote early starting Dec. 14. You have to do it. They cheated, and they rigged our presidential election, but we will still win it. We will still win it. We’ll still win it. And they’re going to try and rig this election too,” Trump told the crowd.
Republicans need at least one of the two GOP candidates to win the runoff in order to keep their Senate majority. With only 50 Republican votes, Vice President-Elect Kamala Harris would be the tiebreaker in Senate votes, and Democrats would control of both houses of Congress and the presidency.
