Franklin Graham responded on Facebook to a Christianity Today op-ed that said President Donald Trump should be removed from office because he is “profoundly immoral,” saying that his father Billy Graham supported Trump and would have disagreed with the editorial.
Graham said he had to respond to the editorial because they invoked his father’s name. “My father knew Donald Trump, he believed in Donald Trump, and he voted for Donald Trump,” he said. “He believed that Donald J. Trump was the man for this hour in history for our nation.”
Graham said that the magazine his father founded was ignoring Trump’s political accomplishments, including economic advancements, pro-life reforms and “staunch” defense of religious freedoms around the world.
“Christianity Today feels he should be removed from office because of false accusations that the President emphatically denies,” Graham continued.
“Christianity Today said it’s time to call a spade a spade. The spade is this—Christianity Today has been used by the left for their political agenda. It’s obvious that Christianity Today has moved to the left and is representing the elitist liberal wing of evangelicalism,” he finished.
