Fox News host Brit Hume is not a fan of Dr. Anthony Fauci–at least not as the only person making rules and recommendations about how to deal with and mitigate the coronavirus outbreak.
He made it clear to Katie Pavlich that he blames public policymakers for relying so heavily on Fauci’s expertise, which he said didn’t begin to cover all the ways in which COVID-19 impacted the U.S. over the last year.
“He’s an epidemiologist,” Hume said. “His job is to fight this disease. He’s not an expert in child psychology, or children’s education. He’s not an expert on whether cancer screenings can be postponed when there’s lockdowns that are affecting hospitals. He’s not an authority on the U.S. economy or the damage that may be done to it. He’s just not. That’s somebody else’s problem and it’s not his.”
“I think these lockdowns and the closing of the schools are the worst public policy decisions of my lifetime,” Hume said.
He really didn’t think the media did any better in their coverage of the events of the last year, either.
