Fox News just recieved a massive helping hand. The Republican Party is making a move and liberals are freaking out. This is a stunning development.
“The two Republican commissioners of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), Brendan Carr and Nathan Simington, have blasted attempts by House Democrats to have cable carriers drop conservative networks,” reported Breitbart News.
According to Breitbart, Reps. Anna Eshoo (D-CA) and Jerry McNerney (D-CA) “sent letters to numerous cable, satellite, and video streaming companies” and asked if they intended on carrying Fox News, Newsmax, and OAN.
Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media are seeking to censor competition for news and opinion-making — which is a direct attack on the First Amendment, to be perfectly blunt.
While cable companies can certainly choose which stations they host, it is constitutionally dubious for lawmakers to bully these companies into suppressing ideas they don’t want to be expressed on the airwaves.
“This is a chilling transgression of the free speech rights that every media outlet in this country enjoys,” said FCC Commissioner Carr, while Commissioner Simington called the Democrats’ move “worrisome.”
