North Korea warned the U.N. to “think about the consequences” of enforcing existing resolutions banning it from nuclear and conventional missile tests.
France brought up the missile launches during an emergency meeting on Friday, which prompted the warning from Senior North Korean Foreign Ministry official Jo Chol Su on Saturday.
Su reasoned that the U.N. was using a “double-dealing standard” because it didn’t even think about sanctioning the U.S. and other western countries for similar missile tests.
North Korean President Kim Jong Un has recently tried to restore communication with South Korea. He said that Koreans wanted to see peace between the two nations.
It doesn’t seem to make sense that Jong Un would start missile tests if he wanted to have peace with South Korea, but since when has he ever made much sense?
