Just when you thought New York Governor Andrew Cuomo had reached rock bottom, a new scandal may be emerging.
Cuomo is now under federal investigation into whether he gave his family and other influential people special access to rapid coronavirus testing during the early weeks of the pandemic and continuing as recently as last month.
Sources said that the governor’s office did not deny giving special access to his family and others, and that top health department personnel went to some of their homes to do the testing.
The results of the tests were also kept confidential and were not included in contact tracing or reporting of test results.
It is illegal for elected officials to use their status to give themselves or others special privileges, but Cuomo hasn’t even been held accountable for all the nursing home residents he killed, so I’m not holding my breath.
