Sen. Rand Paul said during a podcast interview with Lisa Boothe that if Republicans take over the Senate after the midterm elections, it will investigate Dr. Anthony Fauci.
“If we win in November, if I’m chairman of a committee, if I have subpoena power, we’ll go after every one of [Fauci’s] records,” Paul said. “We’ll have an investigator go through this piece-by-piece because we don’t need this to happen again.”
Paul said that Fauci was a “partisan” Democrat and that he is now “trying to deflect” by saying that he “is science” and should not be opposed.
“And so, he didn’t want to answer my questions, so he accuses me of fomenting violence,” Paul continued. “But it’s a misdirection.”
He also said that Fauci tried to take down the scientists behind the Great Barrington Declaration as fomenting misinformation because they disagreed with Fauci and advocated a different way of dealing with the coronavirus pandemic.
