Famous Trump enemy and notorious Russia collusion conspiracy theorist Eric Swalwell just made his 2020 presidential candidacy official.
The 38-year-old legislator is currently serving his fourth term in the House of Representatives. Swalwell made the announcement on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday.
The California Congressman is immensely proud of his militantly anti-Trump record. Colbert pointed out that Swalwell has openly called Trump a “Russian agent”, despite the lack of evidence to back up the claim.
Swalwell proudly announced that he’s “already done a lot”, and that he’s essentially single-handedly “defended our country from the [House] Intelligence Committee, while democracy’s been on the ropes.”
In 2016, Swalwell attempted to initiate his own investigation into the alleged collusion between Trump and Russia. However, his initiative was deemed unnecessary due to the already ongoing Mueller investigation.
Swalwell makes a lot of bold claims about his ability to “solve problems.” However, he is most well known for his ongoing series of social media gaffes and relentless personal vendetta against President Trump.
