Senator-elect Tommy Tuberville (R-AL) hinted this week while campaigning for Georgia GOP Senate runoff candidates that he might join his House counterpart Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Al) in challenging the Electoral College vote as Congress votes to certify the 2020 presidential election in January.
“Well, you see what’s coming,” he said to “Undercurrent” executive producer Lauren Windsor, in video footage she posted on Twitter. “You’ve been reading about it in the House. We’re going to have to — we’re going to have to do it in the Senate.”
“We have no choice but to win this election,” he said at a rally for Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue. “They’re going to try to steal it.”
In a later interview, Tuberville said he hadn’t decided for sure whether he would bring a formal challenge to the results.
He promised to do “due diligence” in considering the action.
