The New York City Board of Elections has withdrawn its latest election count in the mayoral Democrat primary after finding that 135,000 test ballots were included with the results.
The revelation threw the race into confusion Tuesday night during the first ranked choice voting election in the city.
The results at the time had Brooklyn Borough President and former police captain Eric Adams ahead by 16,000 votes, but with a diminished lead.
125,000 absentee votes are still left to be counted, and the race is currently too close to call.
Voting was over a week ago with a still-unknown result.
