White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said on CNBC Monday that China is hoping Joe Biden will be elected in the November election because the Chinese Communist Party expects to benefit from that outcome.
China is “biding their time” in trade negotaitions, Navarro said, because leaders expect to get more favorable trade negotiations from Biden if he wins.
To that end, Navarro also said that China was attempting to “manipulate” the November election with “pro-Biden” messages on the internet and that the Chinese government is paying millions of people to do so.
“The Wu Mao Army is this vast army of millions of Chinese that basically get paid to troll our internet” and spread anti-Trump, pro-Biden propaganda, Navarro said.
“I looked at what’s going on here with our democracy, and it’s the scariest I’ve ever seen it’s because as beneficial as the social media is, it’s also become a tool for people like the Chinese Communist Party to influence what’s going on here,” Navarro concluded.
