Sen. Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) told Breitbart News Daily on Tuesday that Big Tech political censorship has effectively become election interference.
“The online platforms have been incredibly aggressive with their censorship, blocking, throttling, shadow-banning,” Blackburn said.
“I think they interfered with the elections,” Blackburn said. “Of course they did.”
Blackburn said it was going to be important going forward to put rules in place that will stop Big Tech from selectively censoring information that benefits one party or candidate: “They were all on Joe Biden’s team and getting to the bottom of how a lot of that happened is going to be important.”
Blackburn was a co-sponsor of the Online Freedom and Viewpoint Diversity Act, which would tell platforms what they can and can’t censor and would also modify liability protections they currently enjoy.
