The FBI is investigating an attempted May Ohio hack into an election network that they suspect came from a government official.
Sources said the Lake County network was hacked from inside the office of John Hamercheck (R), chairman of the county’s Board of Commissioners.
A private laptop plugged into Hamercheck’s office got routine information–nothing of a sensitive nature–from the network.
The investigation is to determine whether any laws were broken and whether the breach was improper.
The hack was discovered in August at a conference attended by MyPillow’s Mike Lindell, who was attempting to show election fraud and interference.
