Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf (D) confessed that he had his wife turn in his ballot during the recent round of elections.
While certainly not the case nationwide, in Pennsylvania, it is illegal in almost all circumstances to have someone else drop off your ballot for you.
Wolf made the admission during a radio interview saying, “I didn’t show up in person at the polls. We voted a couple weeks ago, actually. My wife actually dropped it off personally two weeks ago, so it’s there.”
Almost immediately, Governor Wolf’s administration was assailed by requests for further information. A spokesman for the Governor predictably said that the illegal act was an “honest mistake.”
Seeing as Governor Wolf is an important person with significant influence, committing election-related crimes is always going to be an “honest mistake.”
With that considered, there will likely be little to no backlash or consequences for Governor Wolf, and he will continue to flaunt the rules.
