An election announcement just stunned Texas. This is terrible news for President Joe Biden — he never expected this to happen. Political war is here.
According to Breitbart News, former presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke (D) “is mulling a bid for Texas governor after President Joe Biden reneged on his guarantee of placing O’Rourke in a gun control position during the 2020 campaign.”
O’Rourke, a former congressman who also failed at defeating Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), had high hopes on leading Biden’s gun control effort, but his expectations have reportedly been dashed.
Biden became president and O’Rourke has been left out in the cold, even after Biden made a firm promise on the campaign trail. Back during the 2020 campaign, Biden made his intentions clear.
“I want to make something clear, I’m going to guarantee you this is not the last you’ve seen of him,” said Biden to supporters in Dallas. “You’re going to take care of the gun problem with me. You’re going to be the one who leads this effort.”
The promise did not come to fruition. Now, O’Rourke may be preparing to run for governor of Texas and be a thorn in Biden’s side. First, however, he would have to defeat Gov. Greg Abbott (R). This won’t happen.
