After Attorney General William Barr appointed U.S. Attorney John Durham to investigate the origins of the Trump-Russia witch-hunt, Americans knew he was serious. A major bombshell has proven it.
While Inspector General Michael Horowitz’s report fell short in its conclusion, one thing is certain: It outlines the case for Durham to go even further in his probe. Senior Obama officials better lawyer up.
According to Aaron Klein with Breitbart, the report makes it clear that former Vice President Joe Biden, former Secretary of State John Kerry, and former National Security Advisor Susan Rice should be investigated.
“Relevant State Department officials refused to participate and Horowitz lacked the subpoena power to compel their testimony,” noted Klein in his piece. But Horowitz’s own report gives Durham what he needs.
“Two witnesses, Glenn Simpson and Jonathan Winer (a former State Department official), declined our requests for voluntary interviews, and we were unable to compel their testimony,” said the report.
The implication here is that such testimony may have been helpful, however, compelling it was out of the report’s scope. Durham can now take this information and open his investigation even wider.
