Former President Donald Trump is “energized and engaged,” according to Sen. Bill Hagerty (R-TN) who met with him this week at Mar-A-Lago.
Hagerty was appointed as the ambassador to Japan in 2017 and served in that position until 2019. He was elected to Congress with Trump’s endorsement in November.
Hagerty wanted to meet with Trump to discuss “the border crisis, election integrity, the state of the Republican Party, and the 2022 elections.”
He said Trump wants to fight for “the forgotten men and women all across the country.”
With his foreign experience, Hagerty serves on the Foreign Relations Committee but is vehemently opposed to Biden’s open border policies.
