Former President Donald Trump reacted to his former Vice President Mike Pence’s assertion that he did not have the power to overturn the results of the 2020 presidential election.
Trump issued a statement following Pence’s speech saying, “Just saw Mike Pence’s statement on the fact that he had no right to do anything with respect to the Electoral Vote Count, other than being an automatic conveyor belt for the Old Crow Mitch McConnell to get Biden elected President as quickly as possible.”
Trump believes that Pence had the power to overturn or at the very least delay confirmation of the electoral votes based on “obvious signs of voter fraud.”
Pence said during a speech in Florida, “I had no right to overturn the election. Frankly there is almost no idea more un-American than the notion that any one person could choose the American president.”
