The news just broke about a presidential announcement and former President Donald Trump was named. The GOP is completely shocked.
“I would not run if President Trump ran and I would talk to him about it,” said former Gov. Nikki Haley (R-SC). She served as the U.S. ambassador to the United States under the Trump administration.
“That’s something that we will have a conversation about at some point, if that decision is something that has to be made,” Haley continued to the Associated Press. “But yeah, I would, absolutely.”
During the interview, she also noted that she “had a great working relationship with him,” referring to Trump. If Trump does run in 2024, it looks like Haley will openly endorse him.
This is why all eyes are on the former president for many potential Republican candidates. Trump has mentioned casually that he “may even decide to run again,” but he has made it official.
First, we have to get through the 2022 midterm elections. Trump is already active in them, too — endorsing Rep. Mo Brooks (R-AL) to replace retiring Sen. Richard Shelby (R-AL).
