President Donald Trump’s administration just announced a jaw-dropping decision this weekend that’s sure to infuriate Democrats.
The Trump administration announced in a press release that the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services has awarded a $5.1 million grant to the Obria Group, a pro-life network of healthcare centers.
President Trump has emphasized his commitment to “make a clear distinction between abortion and family planning” with this decision.
Obria’s mission is to provide “compassionate, holistic, life-affirming and affordable care to men and women across the U.S.” The network provides pregnancy testing and counseling, prenatal care through delivery, and a slew of tests, treatments, and educational resources.
The Department of Health and Human Services just rolled out a new rule that ends funding to organizations that “perform, promote, refer for, or support abortion as a method of family planning.” Obria clinics do not provide abortions or contraceptives as services.
Democrats are panicking about the new rule, which threatens to block $60 million in funding to Planned Parenthood, an organization exists primarily to perform abortions. Trump’s latest decision represents a major win for pro-life constituents across the nation.
