President Donald Trump just made his move. It is not over and millions of people are stunned. He is still fighting for the American people.
“Former President Donald Trump named a new legal team Sunday to present his defense at the Senate impeachment trial currently underway,” reported Breitbart News. He has brought two heavy-hitters on board.
An announcement from Trump’s office stated that he has hired “highly respected trial lawyers David Shoen and Bruce L. Castor, Jr.” to defend him before the Senate trial — which Trump’s team believes is unconstitutional.
In fact, at least 45 Republican senators are convinced that it is unconstitutional as well. Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) recently made a motion on the Senate floor to declare the trial unconstitutional, and 45 senators voted with him.
After all, the impeachment process is for a sitting president, not a private citizen — a point Trump’s lawyers are sure to make repeatedly. Also, Chief Justice John Roberts will not be presiding over the trial.
Why? Because the chief justice only presides over Senate trials for sitting presidents. This should be the biggest red flag. Democrats cannot be allowed to convict a private citizen and shred the Constitution in the process.
