Presidential candidate John Kasich admitted during a recent podcast that he cried when Donald Trump beat him in the 2016 primary.
“I was really hoping that we would block [Trump] and then people would come to their senses,” Kasich said on the Kasich & Klepper podcast. “But when it was over, we got off the plane…I went behind this building, and I cried. I had one cry. Then I went to my daughter’s school – and that was really hard – and they had gotten wind of it and then they came out and gave me a big hug.”
Kasich said he doesn’t miss being governor of Ohio and that the job didn’t define him.
Instead, Kasich is now a CNN contributor, which not many people would know since CNN has dismal ratings.
Kasich has continued to say that the Republican party would “die” if it doesn’t oust Trump, even though Trump is still way more popular than any other Republican in the party right now.
