President Trump may have less than a month left in his term, but the President continues fighting for Americans. President Trump has doubled down on his demands that new coronavirus relief includes $2,000 direct payments to Americans.
President Trump took to Twitter to say, “Made many calls and had meetings at Trump International in Palm Beach, Florida. Why would politicians not want to give people $2000, rather than only $600? It wasn’t their fault, it was China. Give our people the money!”
The bipartisan coronavirus relief package has been rightly criticized as a pork-barrel fund for special interests rather than a genuine relief bill for struggling Americans.
The paltry $600 direct payments, half of what American’s first received early in the crisis, is evidence that the bill is built for special interest groups.
Thankfully, President Trump is fighting for Americans, and while $2,000 won’t save businesses that are going under, it will help thousands of Americans.
The fact that Republicans and Democrats had the audacity to propose giving Americans $600 checks while earmarking billions to various organizations and foreign nations is intolerable.
