President Donald Trump is completely out. He just said the “game is over for me” and stunned the entire nation. Millions of people across the country can’t believe what happened.
“Looking forward to live sports, but any time I witness a player kneeling during the National Anthem, a sign of great disrespect for our Country and our Flag, the game is over for me!” tweeted Trump this week.
Immediately, Trump was attacked by liberals on his post. “You just don’t get it, and that’s why your poll numbers are in free fall,” said user Jeff Tiedrich. “You know what’s REALLY disrespectful? Racism,” said Sahaja, another user.
Trump’s position is simple: He is a strong supporter of free speech and the right to protest, but his conviction is that during the National Anthem — which is a time of unity for Americans — isn’t the proper time.
Millions of Americans feel the same way, too. As the National Anthem is playing, we sing the patriotic words as one people — right hand over our heart and facing the U.S. flag. It isn’t about blind nationalism; it is recalling our history.
But in this politically-correct culture in which every act needs a ‘trigger warning,’ it is no wonder our anthem is being attacked. Countless Americans will join Trump in changing the channel during a game when this happens.
