Former President Donald Trump just recieved bombshell election news. Millions of fans across the nation are cheering — it finally happened.
“A recent Morning Consult poll found Trump leading 48% to former Vice President Mike Pence’s 13% among GOP voters,” reported the Washington Examiner on a hypothetical 2024 match-up.
In fact, Trump and Pence “were the only prospective Republican candidates in the double digits. The majority of the field failed to crack 5% of the vote.” This could change, of course.
Other rising conservative officials, such as Gov. Ron DeSantis (FL), Gov. Kristi Noem (SD), Sen. Tom Cotton (AR), and former U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Halley (SC) could all be vying for the nomination.
Regardless of who formally jumps into the race, the field is going to get crowded quickly — but the Trump factor isn’t going anywhere and they will have to contend with his influence.
The 2024 presidential election is a ways off yet, but one thing is certain: Trump remains a force of nature within the Republican Party and the DC swamp better get used to it.
