President Donald Trump just finally confirmed the rumors. The future of the Republican Party is here — Democrats are terrified.
Trump has publicly revealed who he believes represent the party’s future: Gov. Ron DeSantis (FL), Sens. Josh Hawley (MO), Ted Cruz (TX), and Rand Paul (KY), Gov. Kristi Noem (SD), and his own former press secretary, Sarah Sanders.
Sanders is currently running for governor in her home state of Arkansas and is heavily favored to win the GOP primary and general election. Trump won Arkansas with 62.4 percent of the vote in 2020.
The other “America First” conservatives Trump mentioned are all potential presidential candidates in 2024. As he put it, they all represent a “deep bench” that will be tough to beat.
By contrast, Trump directly called out elected Republicans who “are not good for the Republican Party,” such as Sens. Mitch McConnell (KY), Lisa Murkowski (AK), Ben Sasse (NE), and Mitt Romney (UT).
Whether the DC swamp likes it or not, Trump will remain a force within the GOP for years to come — he plans to get involved in the 2022 midterm elections and may even run for president again in 2024.
