Former President Donald Trump just dropped a bombshell on the Republican Party. The time is now — and Democrats are absolutely terrified.
“Republicans in the House and Senate should not approve the Democrat trap of the January 6 Commission,” said Trump. He urged them to “stop being used by the Radical Left.”
He also insisted that if a commission is created to investigate the Capitol riot, “then the murders, riots, and fire bombings in Portland, Minneapolis, Seattle, Chicago, and New York” should be part of it.
Obviously, the BLM and Antifa riots were not included in the study, therefore House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) openly opposed creating the commission.
He said that Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and the Democrats were playing “political games” and could not be trusted to negotiate a study commission in good faith.
It ended up passing the House, however, its prospects in the Senate — which has a 50/50 partisan split — are dim. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has announced his opposition.
