Former President Donald Trump just demanded immediate removal — he announced it publicly and the DC swamp is stunned. It is time.
“The House GOP has a massive opportunity to upgrade this week from warmonger Liz Cheney to gifted communicator Elise Stefanik,” said Trump in a statement.
A previous attempt to oust Rep. Liz Cheney (R-WY) from her powerful role as chair of the House Republican Conference was unsuccessful, but the situation has changed.
Instead of looking forward, Cheney has spent time and energy relentlessly criticizing Trump, dividing the GOP caucus, and making millions of Trump supporters feel unwelcome.
This is why Trump himself has endorsed Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) to replace Cheney. “We need someone in Leadership who has experience flipping districts from Blue to Red as we approach the important 2022 midterms,” he said.
While Cheney has struck a defiant tone, it is all over for her. House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) has also endorsed Stefanik. All that’s left to do is hold the vote and remove the distraction.
