Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) suggested on Sunday that Democrats impeach President Donald Trump or Attorney General William Barr to try to get Republicans to nominating and voting on a replacement for Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.
“We must commit to allowing and considering and utilizing every single procedural tool available to us again to buy that time,” she said.
When asked if impeaching Trump and Barr could be one of the tools Democrats should use, she said, “I believe that certainly, there has been an enormous amount of law-breaking in the Trump administration. I believe that Attorney General Barr are is unfit for office am, and I am that he has pursued potential we are breaking he here.”
She acknowledged that Democrat leadership would make the decision rather than herself, but said all options had to be available including impeachment.
Trump plans to announce a female nominee for Ginsburg’s seat on Saturday, and it looks like enough Republicans have agreed to vote on the nominee to confirm her if they all vote yes.
