In a hypothetical rematch between former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden, Trump leads by three points, 45% to 42%, according to Harvard-Harris’s May survey.
The poll indicated that 68% of respondents believe the country is on the wrong track, while only 25% believe it is on the right track.
A majority, 56%, also said that their personal financial situation is getting worse under Biden, and 55% disapprove of Biden while only 40% approve.
But even though Trump comes out ahead in the matchup, 13% said they were undecided, which is more than enough to put the contest in question.
If Vice President Kamala Harris ends up the candidate instead of Biden, Trump would win that hypothetical matchup by 7%.
