Georgia Governor Brian Kemp isn’t taking former President Donald Trump’s attacks on him and other Georgia officials personally, it seems.
Wednesday on the Fox News Channel, Kemp said he would “absolutely” support Trump if he becomes the party’s 2024 nominee.
“I think his ideas will be a part of our party for a long time in the future,” Kemp said of Trump. “Republicans need to have a big tent. There’s a lot of great ideas out there. We’re not always going to get along, but I think the president deserves a lot of credit, and he’s not going away.”
Trump called Kemp a “fool” and a “clown,” and he pledged to campaign against Kemp and Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger when they are up for re-election in 2022.
It says something for Kemp’s integrity that he did what he thought was right with the election and is now withstanding Trump’s abuse that things didn’t go his way.
