Corruption from within the Department of Justice (DOJ) was just exposed before the entire country. The White House has now stepped in and the fireworks are already going off.
“There are obstructionists all across this government who are working against the president,” said White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham, responding to an absurd petition from former DOJ officials.
The petition, which has been signed by over 1,100 former DOJ employees, calls for the resignation of Attorney General William Barr after a reduced sentence was recommended for Trump ally Roger Stone.
The petitioners — echoing Democrat talking points — are claiming that the White House interfered in Stone’s case and Barr allowed it to happen, thereby “politicizing” the DOJ.
However, Grisham said the petition “didn’t surprise” her. “A lot of those petitioners are career employees. There are many people who hailed AG Barr when we first appointed him and he’s been doing a great job.”
Grisham is right: Barr has been a spectacular AG and there’s no reason for him to resign. He is expected to testify before the House Judiciary Committee soon, and the facts will be on his side.
