Another weekend, another few dozen shootings in Chicago, led by Democrat Mayor Lori Lightfoot. ]
36 people were shot from Friday until Saturday night in the city, with seven killed there during that time period.
Most of the people shot were adult men, but a 23-year-old woman and a 15-year-old boy were also killed in the violence that took place in just over 24 hours.
The violence followed a 5-hour time frame from Thursday night into Friday in which 17 people were shot and three of those were killed.
The city has some of the strongest gun control laws in the country, but something in the handling of gun violence shootings is not right as the problem continues and get worse.
