Democrats were just completely busted. New evidence has proved another huge lie, and they can’t escape the truth this time. The Biden-Harris ticket could be in major trouble now.
During the Democratic National Convention (DNC), Sen. Cory Booker (D-NJ) made a pledge that won’t work out in reality. “Together, with Joe and Kamala in the White House, we’ll raise the minimum wage so no one who works a full-time job lives in poverty,” he said.
According to Booker, the plan is for Congress to raise the federal minimum wage to $15 — and then for a hypothetical President Joe Biden to sign it. However, the Associated Press published an “AP FACT CHECK” piece that blew the idea apart.
As the AP noted, the promise to “lift all full-time workers out of poverty” this way isn’t likely. The CBO estimated that “increasing the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour would lift 1.3 million Americans out of poverty,” but that’s not nearly enough.
In fact, appromimately 38 million people in the U.S. live in poverty according to statistics from 2018. The same report even said that hiking the minimum wage to $15 “would cost 1.3 million people their jobs because they would be priced out of the market.”
But that is one of the many problems with Democrats: they make utopian political promises that have nothing do to with economics. And, in this case, their so-called “plan” would end up being a wash and not moving the needle a single inch toward their goal.
