A high-ranking Democrat senator just flipped. Speaker Nancy Pelosi and her anti-Trump allies in Congress are furious, but she only has herself to blame.
Appearing on MSNBC, of all networks, Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) was asked by anchor Willie Giest whether Hunter Biden is a “relevant witness.” He said, “I think so, I really do.”
“I don’t have a problem there, because this is why we are where we are,” Manchin said. “Now, I think that he could clear himself … but being afraid to put anybody that might have pertinent information is wrong.”
Manchin was also asked if he would vote to call Hunter Biden as a witness. “If the judge or whoever rules that it’s pertinent, absolutely,” he said. You can almost hear the grinding of teeth at MSNBC.
In fact, as Machin was delivering his response, Giest has a bewildered look on his face — one that seemed to denote simultaneously his feelings of confusion and indignation.
All eyes are now on Manchin as a swing vote during President Trump’s Senate trial, both on whether he would vote to call witnesses forward or vote to remove the president from office.
