Former FBI agent Robert Levinson has been missing since 2007 and has been presumed dead. However, President Trump offered some hope when he said he didn’t “accept” that Levinson was dead.
Levinson went missing in 2007 when visiting Iran’s Kish Island and Iran has denied any knowledge of what happened to Levinson.
President Trump said, “I don’t accept that he’s dead. It’s not looking great, but I won’t accept that he’s dead. They haven’t told us that he’s dead, but a lot of people are thinking that that’s the case.”
While it is likely Levinson is dead, Trump’s wording suggests there is still significant uncertainty.
It has been long suspected that Levinson was being held hostage by Iran. After all, Levinson was on a mission with the CIA at the time of his disappearance.
But at this time there are no solid answers and the worst seems likely.
