President Joe Biden sounded the alarm about a “potentially deadlier” variant of the coronavirus designated the delta coronavirus.
President Biden is campaigning to get Americans vaccinated and to persuade Americans who remain skeptical of the effectiveness and safety of the vaccine.
Biden issued his warning during a speech at the White House on Friday, saying, “Even while we’re making incredible progress, it remains a serious and deadly threat.”
The President has been locked in on getting Americans vaccinated at the cost of attention to other important issues. The CDC reports that over 300 million vaccinations have been administered, and roughly 140 million Americans are fully vaccinated.
Biden continued saying, “It’s a variant that is more easily transmissible, potentially deadlier and particularly dangerous for young people, but the good news is we have the solution. We’re heading into, God willing, the summer of joy, the summer of freedom. On July 4, we are going to celebrate our independence from the virus as we celebrate our independence of our nation. We want everyone to be able to do that.”
With a good portion of Americans vaccinated and many others carrying immunities from past exposure, coronavirus is in full retreat. Many variants have popped up, and yet all have failed to take real hold in the population. Americans should continue to weigh their medical decisions in a reasonable manner.
