Representative Claudia Tenney (R-NY) is calling for New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) to resign following a shocking report detailing how Cuomo had hidden nursing home deaths from the public.
Tenney told “Fox and Freinds,” that “I’ve called for Governor Cuomo’s resignation, I think this is probably going to look like criminal behavior. The inspector general needs to go in and force the counting of these deaths and the reason why you would put COVID-positive patients in a nursing home with the most vulnerable people in our communities.”
Cuomo’s administration knowingly withheld data on the deaths in nursing homes to avoid federal scrutiny and the likely wrath of then-President Donald Trump.
Representative Lee Zeldin (R-NY) also joined calls for an investigation, saying, “The families of thousands of dead New York seniors deserve accountability and justice for the true consequences of Governor Cuomo’s fatally flawed nursing home policy and the continued attempts to cover it up. It’s clear what’s happening here is criminal.”
Cuomo could have claimed that the decision to send Covid patients to nursing homes was a simple mistake. Still, his continued coverup has destroyed any plausible deniability that he may have had.
Governor Cuomo made decisions that killed thousands and continues to coverup the truth of the matter to this day. If Cuomo was a Republican, he would likely have found himself in jail already.
