Rep. Kathleen Rice (D-NY) became the first Democrat lawmaker on Monday to call for New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) to resign amid multiple allegations of sexual harassment.
“The time has come. The Governor must resign,” Rice tweeted after the third allegation came out on Monday.
Rice had also called for an independent investigation into the first two allegations over the weekend, saying, “This is no joke. There must be an independent investigation into these allegations. The accused CANNOT appoint the investigator.” PERIOD.”
She did not mention the claims that Cuomo had withheld data about the true extent of nursing home COVID-19 deaths because he thought it would reflect badly on his policy to put COVID-positive seniors back into nursing homes where they likely infected others.
It seems to me like these allegations are nothing but an attempt to distract people from the even worse thing Cuomo did with the nursing homes, which is a despicable move by Democrats that should be resisted.
