Embattled New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) is not only losing the support of the Democrat Party, but he has also reportedly lost the support of his family.
GOP gubernatorial candidate Representative Lee Zeldin (R-NY) held a fundraiser which was attended by the in-laws of Chris Cuomo, Andrew Cuomo’s brother. Andrew Cuomo’s conduct as Governor has been so bad that it has split the family.
Zeldin’s campaign has attracted a lot of support, and he has managed to soundly defeat Cuomo in fundraising.
The only obstacle to Zeldin marching to victory is the overwhelming Democrat support base in New York. Nonetheless, Cuomo is as weak of an opponent as Zeldin could hope to face.
Cuomo has faced both allegations of sexual misconduct and allegations that he created a crisis in New York’s nursing homes by forcing them to accept covid patients. Cuomo very well could have caused the death of thousands of elderly nursing home patients.
It is no surprise that Cuomo’s relatives are splitting over supporting him. His performance as Governor has been borderline criminal, and he should have resigned months ago.
