Russia used a new law against “fake news” to remove reports on multiple media sites in the country that it said were inaccurate and violated the policy.
The content removed included print news, online, radio and YouTube content related to the coronavirus outbreak.
One of the sites that had content removed said it was the opinion of the writer and that it would appeal the order.
Another site had content removed that reported on a Russian man who died at the hospital from coronavirus.
Russia currently claims that only 253 people in the country have tested positive for coronavirus, and only one death has been reported.
