The news just dropped about a reversal on the coronavirus. Millions of people nationwide are shocked and wondering what is going to happen next. This is a stunning turn of events.
“I’m feeling better about it as we go by,” said Dr. Anthony Fauci, striking a decidedly different tone about the possibility of a second wave of COVID-19. “I want people to really appreciate that it could happen, but it is not inevitable,” he said.
In fact, this is practically a reversal from his previous statements, in which he was far less optimistic about reopening our economy and getting back to ‘normal’ life. He initially thought a second wave was all but certain.
Now, however, Dr. Fauci seems confident that should such an event occur, the United States will at least be prepared to handle it — or it may not happen at all if we continue moving forward with the proper precautions.
“If we do the kinds of things that we’re putting in place now to have the workforce, the system, and the will to do the kinds of things that are the clear and effective identification, isolation and contact tracing, we can prevent this,” he said.
Across the nation, Americans have worked together to flatten the curve through social distancing and limiting public outings to ones of necessity. Together, we will move forward and our nation will be stronger than ever.
