The news just dropped about a coronavirus nightmare and health officials are preparing for the worst. A second wave of the highly-contagious COVID-19 originating from Wuhan, China, could hit the continent hard again.
“Authorities across Asia have ramped up efforts to stem the spread of the deadly novel coronavirus amid fears of a second wave of infections in places where outbreaks had appeared under control,” reported Yahoo! News.
China, Thailand, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and other nations across Asia are all concerned — and the World Health Organization (WHO) has called for “aggressive” action to mitigate a “major outbreak.”
In fact, this “second wave” has reportedly arrived and, therefore, measures are being taken to flatten the curve as much as possible. The continent — and, by extension, the world — cannot sustain another wave like the first.
According to the same report, a major factor is people returning to Asia from other continents. For example: Singapore, which has over 5.5 million residents, has banned “all short-term visitors” from its jurisdiction.
Let’s never forget where COVID-19 started in the first place: China. President Donald Trump is right to demand accountability for the communist nation that covered-up data on the virus and put the entire world at risk.
