Numbers continue to fly about the ‘true’ coronavirus death count, and now the problem has widened even further. The news just broke about a reversal that could throw things into further disarray. Someone may have lied.
“The CDC criteria include anybody who has died with COVID-19, but what the people of Colorado and the people of the country want to know is how many people died of COVID-19,” said Colorado Gov. Jared Polis.
Polis is disputing the CDC numbers compared to the numbers compiled by Colorado. Previously, it was reported that Colorado had 1,150 deaths, but the number was changed to 878 by officials. So, who is being dishonest?
Perhaps the answer isn’t that simple. The CDC and Colorado are reportedly using different criteria to determine deaths. As Polis noted, the CDC is counting those who died with the virus, while his state is counting who died of it.
All that aside, however, Polis talked about his positive working relationship with President Donald Trump. Even though Polis is a Democrat, he thinks there’s a time for politics and a time to come together to get a job done.
“Look, I happen to be a Democrat, but what I’ve said is he’s the president we have, and I owe it to the people of my state who elected me to work with any president,” said Polis during an interview on Fox News Sunday.
