A ‘civil war’ just broke out and millions of people across the nation are stunned. The lines have been drawn — there’s no telling when this will end.
“We’re not interested in just passing a bunch of partisan bills that sit in the Senate without action,” said Rep. Josh Gottheimer (D-NJ), a member of his party’s “moderate” wing. The Democrat civil war has begun.
“There’s a feeling among many of us that we’re here to govern,” Gottheimer continued. “The issues are far too important, and it will take bipartisan work to make it happen.” He is right, of course, but there’s one problem.
Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) is driving a hard-left agenda, even though the GOP is just five seats away from retiring her forever. Yet, she is forcing radical, partisan legislation without involving Republicans.
Gottheimer would much rather reach across the aisle and find areas of common ground with his Republican colleagues in Congress — something even President Joe Biden cared about before he was a puppet for the far-left.
This civil war within the Democratic Party between lawmakers like Gottheimer and extremists (ex. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) is a sign that the GOP is in a strong position to take the House in 2022.
