President Trump has reversed the government’s previous stance on churches. He has declared churches as essential and is demanding governors to allow churches to reopen.
In an announcement on Friday, Trump said, “Today, I am identifying houses of worship, churches, synagogues, and mosques as essential places that provide essential services.”
He went on to add, “Some governors have deemed liquor stores and abortion clinics as essential but have left out churches and other houses of worship. That’s not right.”
For a majority of the lockdown, many churches have met online but obviously that is an unsustainable practice.
While many depending on their area may continue to stay at home, church members should be able to decide on their own what they want to do.
With the coronavirus pandemic on the decline and many areas completely unaffected, it is time for a return to normal life.
