Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer is completely finished. President Donald Trump is laughing now — not even he expected this to happen with less than two weeks until the November election.
Earlier this week, Schumer made a motion on the Senat floor “not to consider any Supreme Court nomination so close to the election,” reported Fox News. But his point of order was shut down by none other than Sen. Mitt Romney (R-UT).
Romney, serving as the Senate’s presiding officer, declared that Schumer’s objection was “not ripe for decision.” While the Utah senator is a frequent Trump critic, he wouldn’t dare buck his own party on Supreme Court nominees.
Judge Amy Coney Barrett’s nomination will now be voted on by the Senate early next week after being voted out of the Senate Judiciary Committeee unanimously on Thursday — without any Democrats present because they boycotted.
But that is what you get from Democrats: Grandstanders and obstructers, not public servants. The Republican Party has had its ups and downs over the years, but it has always been the better one, and Trump has held their feet to the fire.
Under Trump, the Republican Party has followed through on his promises over the last four years in unprecedented fashion. Schumer could learn from this example, but he prefers to sell snake oil, utopianism, and false narratives.
