Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) just received terrible news. Democrats are completely shocked and the problem isn’t going away.
“In an interview with Punchbowl News posted Monday morning, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez refused to rule out a 2022 run against current Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer,” reported Breitbart News.
“I’m a no-bullsh** kind of person,” she said, refusing to give a direct response. “I’m not playing coy or anything like that.” But this also means she is keeping her options open for the future; she isn’t ruling out the possibility.
In the past, Ocasio-Cortez has criticized Democrat leadership — she wants them to lurch even further to the left. This should be expected from someone who is nothing short of a socialist.
All eyes are on the Senate races in 2022. As Ocasio-Cortez ponders a challenge to Schumer, Republicans are looking at regaining the Senate majority since the chamber’s partisan split will be 50/50 over the next two years.
Incoming vice president, Sen. Kamala Harris, will be the tie-breaking vote and therefore Democrats will have the slimmest majority possible. The House is also in play for the GOP given the gains that were made during the 2020 cycle.
