Sen. Chuck Schumer (D-NY) is just as corrupt as the rest of his party, according to a new report that details contributions he received from two companies that funded the Nordstream II pipeline.
Schumer voted against sanctions on Russia that would have grounded the pipeline, which makes the $2,500 contributions he received suspect.
The corporate political action committees of ENGIE North America and BASF Corporation made the contributions.
Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) put forward a sanctions bill against the pipeline earlier in January, but Democrats used the filibuster to block it. A few Democrats did vote for Cruz’s bill, but not enough to get past the filibuster.
It’s insane how much corruption lawmakers are mired in, even to the top leaders of the party.
