Sen. Tom Cotton (R-AR) called TikTok China’s Trojan horse on Thursday and said that the app must either be severed from all ties to China or be banned.
“It vacuums up your email, your text messages, your photographs, your browser history, even your keystrokes,” Cotton said of the app, adding that it sends them back to the Chinese Communist Party.
We cannot continue to allow that threat to the privacy and the security — especially to the children,” Cotton said.
President Donald Trump signed an executive order Thursday giving Tik Tok’s parent company 45 days to sever the app from China or be shut down completely in the U.S.
It’s a good thing very few people who use TikTok vote at this point.
